In a significant operation, Raipur police apprehended murder suspect Raja Bejhar on Monday in the Tikrapara area. During the arrest, several police personnel sustained injuries. The operation was led by TI Manoj Sahu, who coordinated a team to corner and capture Raja.

Raja’s Connection to the Durg Encounter and Violent Past

According to police sources, Raja Bejhar recently obtained a pistol from Amit, who was killed in a police encounter in Durg. Previously on parole, Raja failed to return to jail after his release, instead choosing to remain in Raipur, spreading fear within the community. Police had been receiving reports about his movements and activities for several days.

Clash During the Arrest

As the police attempted to arrest Raja Bejhar, a scuffle ensued, resulting in injuries to several officers, including Head Constable Mahesh Netam, Constable Aswan Sahu, Sunil Pathak, Vivek Yadav, Anand Sharma, and Roop Dhurveshi. Despite the confrontation, the police successfully subdued and detained Raja.
