Pursuing Social Media Fame, Youth Risks Lives with Dangerous Stunts: Police acts tough
In the pursuit of more followers and views on social media, young people are risking their lives by performing dangerous stunts. A recent case from Haldwani highlights this trend, where a young man was caught performing a risky bike stunt, shirtless, on a busy road. The stunt was uploaded to Instagram, but it didn’t escape the notice of the police, who then taught the biker a lesson he’s unlikely to forget.
Shirtless Bike Stunt Draws Police Attention
The incident came to light as Nainital SSP Prahlad Narayan Meena issued orders to enforce road safety checks and take action against reckless stunts. Under this directive, Haldwani police acted on a viral video showing a young man riding shirtless and performing stunts on the Haldwani-Nainital road. The police quickly identified the rider as Shyam Singh from Tola Raikuni, Reetha Sahib, and seized his bike (UK 04 AN 5723) under provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act. The biker, acknowledging his mistake, apologized and promised not to repeat such behavior.
Police’s Message to the Youth
Nainital Police issued a strong appeal to young people, urging them to follow traffic rules, avoid driving under the influence, and refrain from performing stunts. "Stay within safe limits to ensure not only your safety but also the safety of others on the road," the police warned, adding that dangerous stunts could result in jail time.
This incident serves as a reminder of the risks associated with stunt-driven social media content and the importance of adhering to traffic laws for everyone’s safety.
