Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, and Nita Ambani, Founder of Reliance Foundation, met with US President-elect Donald Trump a day before his inauguration ceremony.

The Ambanis, influential figures in global business, are among the distinguished guests attending the inauguration of the 47th US President. On January 19, 2025, Mukesh and Nita Ambani arrived in Washington DC to participate in several events marking Trump's second-term inauguration.

The couple, considered close to the Trump family, was also part of an exclusive group of 100 guests who attended a private "candlelight dinner" hosted by Trump that evening. During this intimate gathering, Vice President-elect JD Vance and his wife, Usha, were also present.

The Ambanis are set to have a prominent role at the inauguration on January 20. As personal invitees of the Trump family, they will be seated with other distinguished guests, including Trump’s Cabinet nominees and elected officials. This event is expected to be star-studded, with prominent figures such as tech moguls Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Tim Cook, and Mark Zuckerberg, among others, attending.

Mukesh Ambani’s ties with the Trump family go back several years, having participated in events alongside Ivanka Trump during the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in 2017 and during Trump’s visit to India in 2020.

The Ambanis were also involved in a star-studded pre-wedding celebration in Gujarat for their son Anant in 2024, which was attended by Ivanka Trump, her husband Jared Kushner, and other notable personalities. The inauguration will kick off with a banquet and a fireworks show at the Trump National Golf Club in Virginia.

The Ambanis are also expected to attend a Cabinet reception and a dinner with the Vice President. In addition to the Ambanis, key political figures like President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton are expected at the ceremony.

Global tech leaders and executives from major companies such as OpenAI, Google, Meta, and Uber are also set to attend, many of whom have contributed significantly to the Trump inaugural fund. The inauguration events will culminate with the swearing-in ceremony, marking Donald Trump’s second term as President of the United States.
