RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Warns of Third World War Threat Amid Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Hamas Conflicts
On Sunday, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat expressed concerns about the looming risk of a third world war, pointing to ongoing conflicts between Russia and Ukraine, as well as Israel and Hamas. He was speaking at a lecture held in memory of Dr. Urmila Jamdar, a late female leader from the Mahakaushal region of Madhya Pradesh.
Bhagwat remarked, “There’s a growing sense of a third world war threat. Speculations suggest it could originate in Ukraine or Gaza.” While noting the advances in science, he lamented that these benefits are still out of reach for the world’s impoverished populations. However, he noted that destructive weaponry has proliferated globally.
Highlighting disparities, Bhagwat observed, “Medicines for some diseases may not be available in rural areas, but country-made firearms are.” He voiced concerns over environmental issues, noting that degradation has reached a level where it contributes to disease.
Discussing values, Bhagwat emphasized that serving humanity aligns with Sanatan Dharma, which he equated with Hinduism, asserting its potential to guide the world. He added that the term Hindu existed long before it appeared in Indian scriptures, noting that Guru Nanak Dev was among the first to use it in public discourse.
