Amaran Worldwide Box Office: Surpasses ₹200 Crore in 10 Days, Eyes ₹250 Crore Mark as Kanguva Prepares for Release

Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi's Amaran crosses ₹200 crore globally, aiming for ₹250 crore amidst strong competition from the upcoming release Kanguva, starring Suriya and Bobby Deol.

Amaran

The biographical film Amaran, featuring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, has become a box office sensation, crossing the ₹200 crore mark globally within just ten days of its release. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, Amaran chronicles the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, who was killed in action in Kashmir in 2014. The film has resonated with audiences, fueled by positive word-of-mouth and solid critical acclaim.

Box Office Success and Future Prospects

Released on October 31, one day before Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again, Amaran has managed to hold its ground amid other major releases. With an impressive opening of ₹24.7 crore and ₹132.2 crore within its first week, Amaran quickly recouped its budget of approximately ₹120 crore. By Day 11, it had grossed over ₹150 crore domestically and over ₹216 crore worldwide, positioning it to soon enter the ₹250 crore club.

Sustained Performance and Positive Reception

Amaran continued its momentum into its second weekend, earning nearly ₹16 crore on Sunday alone, capitalizing on weekend viewership. Its ongoing success has ensured its strong presence in theaters across India, with analysts expecting it to retain this grip until November 13.

Will Kanguva Challenge Amaran's Run?

On November 14, Kanguva, starring Suriya, Bobby Deol, and Disha Patani, is set to release across 10,500 screens worldwide, potentially offering Amaran stiff competition. Given Amaran's positive reception and its steady hold at the box office, it will be interesting to see if Kanguva can match or surpass its momentum.

The Story and Cast Behind Amaran

An adaptation of India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, Amaran delves into real-life military bravery. The film was jointly produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Sony Pictures Films India and features a star-studded cast, including Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose, and Geetha Kailasam.

With its compelling storyline and stellar performances, Amaran has set a high benchmark, making it one of the most successful releases of the year. The coming days will reveal whether it can continue its extraordinary box office journey and reach the ₹250 crore milestone despite the arrival of Kanguva.
